What it is not

Information, not advice

The kit is general information and template letters you adapt and send yourself. It is not legal advice, it was not written by a lawyer, and it does not replace the free services below. If you have a deadline running, call them first.

  • QSTARS 1300 744 263 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, plus 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday
  • RTA 1300 366 311 Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm

The bundle

Add a report built from your numbers

For A$59 you get the kit plus a 6 to 8 page report built from the figures you enter in the free check: your increase, the matching median where we have one, the three-path comparison, your dates, and a letter to start from.

Your entries stay in your browser. The report is built there after payment, so your rent, postcode and dates are never sent to us, to the payment provider or to the email service.

Questions

Before you buy

Which situation am I in?

There are three. An increase notice during your current agreement; a new agreement you sign at a higher rent; or a fixed term that rolls over to a periodic agreement. The two-page quick start at the front of the kit works it out with you, because the notice rules and the 30-day windows differ for each.

Will this tell me if the increase is excessive?

No. Only QCAT decides that. The kit shows what QCAT weighs, how to gather the evidence, and how the RTA and QCAT steps fit around the 30-day limit, so you can prepare properly or decide it is not worth pursuing.

What if my postcode is not covered?

The law, the letters and the 52-week method in the kit apply anywhere in Queensland. Only the median-rent comparison in the free check and the report is limited to six inner-Brisbane postcodes. Outside them, the report says there is no matching median and still gives you the comparison, your dates and letter guidance.

How do refunds work?

Ask within 14 days for any reason and we refund you in full, usually within two business days. That sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.

Who makes this?
